This weekend I hopes be getting some Bling.

Finally managed to track down my Research Lecturer/Unit coordinator and got my Critiquing essay back, 77% wasn't too bad. That was worth 40% overall and the exam is 60 sooo I think I'm going to do alright. 120 Questions over 120 minutes.... hmmm glad my Lecturer is giving me some clues...

I've basically passed BRI without taking the exam as the mark I got for my case study was 82% and that was worth 60% overall. The exam involve 3 essays over a 2 hour period, I just have to get more than half.

And Human Bio I'm sitting on 72%... so I just have to get more than half in the exams which shouldn't be too hard.

Unfortunately because I'm all over the show for my units I have to withdraw from one of them for next semester because I wont have the pre requistes done. I'm not very happy about it.

Today I went into Uni to attempt to collect a few assignments.
I managed to successfully sit through half of my human biology lecture on reproduction endocrinology and then went stalking lecturers.

We got 82% in our group project which was a case study on a MS sufferer called Mary.
I was a little sneaky and flicked through the rest of the pile, most only achieved about 66 to 60 percent so we did really well.
I know I was feeling really frustrated when I did most of it and then gave it to the rest of my group to finish and then they requested an extension because one of our group members went to freaking Bali and didn't have a chance to contribute. GRrr....
After I gave it back to them they only added another 2oo works anyway...

I went to hunt my Research lecturer but he actually hasn't finished marking mine.
I was surprised and slightly worried when he tells me, ".. oh but don't worry, you've passed. I've already decided..."
Has he even bothered to read my assignment or is he just that sick of seeing me he desperately wants me to move on to other units???
I'm going to have to make it a point NOT to ask questions next semeseter and to avoid expression any opinions. It's making me a little too noticed.
Even lecturers that had to put up with me last year still recognize me and stop to chat.

My mum and dad will be here at 4pm today. They called earlier to let me know that had begun the drive. I will see them later after I take the dog to agility class.

I got home this arvo and laughed at Chris, he went to all the trouble of putting the garbage bin up high from our harrison the hoover dog who gets into it and eats everything he can. Unfortunately he left the fruit bowl sitting on one of the dining chair and my dog has eaten all the pears.
Last week it was a whole bag of croutons that we'd left on the table.... my dog has the oddest diet and anyone would think he doesn't get enough food.

Today I'm at uni.
Sitting in front of a computer surrounded by papers on critiquing journal articles and I can't seem to find any motivation or inspiration. Strangely enough when I got to my lecture this morning it seems my lecturer forgot to....
Room full of students.....no lecturer or anything.
It was soooo strange and eery.
I bailed after a while and went to the library.

I feeling like a seed lacking water and nutrients, quite dormant and ineffective. Surrounded by my mulch of papers and biros. I feel like I need to draw, take pictures and paint. Possibly break things too but have an excuse to say that it's desconstruction is a test in validity of construction to the mind or some other such wank.

This chair is fucking uncomfortable and I'd rather a static one than this because it isn't adjusted right and squeaks every time I move.

I think tommorrow I will discuss reducing my hours a work a little... again.

I have bought the most awesome shoes, the first time ever I've bought something completely impractical because I like the way they look. It's an odd feeling.
My feet will hate me at the end of a day of wearing them but I don't care because they are legendary shoes. *gleee*

I just had the union call me again for the 4th time about the negotiations that are going on today between Bethanie and them. Apparently they have no one that will sit in on them from our site because most people are sick. I've recommended June Fryer, I know it's her day off but maybe she will be interested as she's been complaining that the union isn't making enough headway with the mediation sessions. Most likely she will just get shitty at me for suggesting her when she's got a day off.
Oh well.

I want to start writing a list of acceptable cafes, restaurants and bars that have levels of "...Ambient..." noise that doesn't verge on disruptive and obnoxious to it's customers.
What ever happened to intimacy and ambient surroundings?
Everyone is trying so hard to be "IN" and cool now they don't care that their customers have to yell at each other to talk and communicate...

Unfortunately Dome is rather good, I find they never seem to have background music that insists on smashing it's way into your face. Maybe slightly noisy customers but really that is acceptable. Another bonus is that it is consistent, I have never found a horrible Dome yet.

Exo mod...is really crap for it.
They are too close to the street to get away with playing any type of music that has a beat and really should stick to tracks like Enya and Whalesongs.
Note this is only the Mount lawley Exo mod and I haven't had the opportunity to try the one in the city yet.

Cantina in Mount Lawley is almost acceptable depending on where you sit. They have good service but serve odd food that is based on only italian items and if that isn't what you feel like at that moment you are stuck.

Giardinis in Leederville is alright but only if you sit in the back section otherwise all you get is loud kitchen noises and the sound of cars going past. They do good pizza.

Cafe 130 is way too loud and has no atmosphere considering you have dodgy furniture, people's ciggarette smoke wafting in from the outside area and really cramped setting.

Greens and Co in leederville is always too loud and the service isn't that good. You get the street noise, the overly loud techno and the disgusting ciggarette smoke wafting in from the street. On a bad day you get the smell from the street bums that decide to loiter for a little while on the outside chairs. On weekend evenings you get skanky girls coming in being raucous to use the facilities. It's great... :|

Alexander's in Cambridge street is really good, they are quiet, have awesome service and quite alot of space. Their menu is extensive and they do a good lunch. I need to find out their opening hours so I can go there on the weekends.

Woollylattes on Grantham street isn't too bad but I wouldn't want to go there on a busy weekend for them. They don't have a lot of seating space in amongst the stock displays and it could get really loud with some cackling women in there. They have good service though and a nic range of wools and equipment for knitting. Chris says their foccacia is really nice and I'm quite fond of their ploughmans platter.

Well today I went to Uni with all good intentions of going to class, I even managed to park in time. I was heading over to the lecture theatre when I was ambushed by Brandyn and Alan, they sidetracked me over to the Tavern and I spent most of my morning with them drinking and playing stupid games.
Yay.

I'm well aware that the lecturer was going to read exactly what I have in my lecture notes straight out to the class but I would have liked to have gone to class still. Peer pressure is a bitch.

Last week on Friday I celebrated International woman's week at Parliament house. I was there on behalf of LHMU, the union I am my site's delegate for.

It was a very nice meal and I sat next to the the member for Kwinana, Roger Cook.
Roger also does alot of things involved with the national indigenous council and Indigenous land rights. He is involved insomething to do with negotiations between mining and development companys between traditional land users. I think at the end of the meal he was probably regretting sitting next to me as I used the opportunity to describe in detail the state of aged care in Western Australia.

To my left I had my colleage, Dianna, who is the union delegate for the nursing home section on our site. On our table we had people involved in disabled care, aged care and the miscellaneous workers Union. It was an interesting evening discussing everyone's vast and varied experiences in the care field. I discovered that disabled care is state funded unlike aged care which is federally funded and we have different funding tools in each industry. I'm not sure I could do disabled care, it sounds really hard.

When I left the complex my car had been sitting there without valid parking for an hour because I underestimated how long it would take. I was very lucky not to receive a parking ticket.

I made my last tutorial for that day but wasn't that interested in doing much work. I had consumed a little too much alcohol because I was busy talking and not quick enough to put my hand over the glass when the waiter was walking about with the bottle. It was a really nice event and I was glad to have the opportunity to attend.

We move this weekend.
Yay!

Settlement is Wednesday and I've been finalising a few things in regards to electrical accounts and shire rubbish bins.

I dropped Rosemary off to the airport this morning and then took the car to Auto Masters to get the brakeshoes done and stuff.

I walked back home, it took for ever and I'm glad there is a breeze today.

Neighbours in the new place are in Japan atm, I met one of their mums today when I went to let them know we'd be moving in there from Friday. She said she would get Alexandra to move her car. I also let them know we might be inconveinencing them over the weekend with the presence of a 3 tonne truck but would try to make it minimal.

I better go.
